Position Description

JACS is seeking an Instructional Design Intern that can assist in developing engaging and effective learning materials, incorporating instructional strategies to promote understanding and retention among learners.

Responsibilities 

The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing effective learning solutions for various educational or training programs and will analyze learning needs, design instructional materials, and create engaging learning experiences that promote knowledge retention and skill acquisition.

  • Conduct needs assessments and learning analyses to determine knowledge gaps and performance requirements.

  • Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, online courses, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and multimedia assets.

  • Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theory to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

  • Develop storyboards, scripts, and prototypes for multimedia elements such as videos, simulations, and interactive exercises.

  • Evaluate and revise instructional materials based on feedback, usability testing, and performance data to improve learning outcomes.

  • Ensure that instructional materials are accessible and comply with relevant standards and regulations

  • Provide guidance and support to instructors and trainers on instructional design principles,strategies, and best practices for teaching and learning.

Qualifications

  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative instructional materials that engage learners and promote effective learning outcomes.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in instructional materials, including text, graphics, and multimedia elements.
